The Hong Kong Contemporary Art Foundation [HOCA] is proud to present its first-ever exhibition to discerning art lovers – ‘La Maison d’Aya’ by Aya Takano – at Bibo on Hollywood Road from 9th December, 2014 to 18th February, 2015.
Aya Takano is a star of the Japanese contemporary art world. Takano’s work is based on the ukiyo-e and shunga styles and is a reflection of a contemporary Japanese transliteration of the Lolita complex, known as ‘lolicon’ and derived from Vladimir Nabakov’s famous book.

‘La Maison d’Aya’ [which translates to ‘House of Aya’] will include drawings and paintings from the last decade of the Takano’s work, including well-known pieces ‘Hoshiko the City Child’ [2006], Land of Sodom and Gomora [2006], and rising, Floating Energy and Flower [2013].  In addition, the artist has created a site-specific installation at Bibo, as well as two new pieces painted specifically for the exhibition.
